VIRTUAL CHAT | Student & Community Engagement
Virtual Chat is a platform to frame and guide dialogue and discussions relevant to medical, graduate, and allied health education and practice. The purpose of this platform is to provide a virtual space for our students to gain cultural competence. These bite-sized cultural competence seminars are designed to serve as a co-curricular learning opportunity for ALL students offered through the Office of Student and Community Engagement.
Lauren Jones, PhD is from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. Lauren has worked at SPH since 2017. She believes in speaking truth to power and centering the marginalized. Lauren provides leadership and oversight for inclusion activities across the school, including strategic planning and implementation, training, and programming. She helps the school to operationalize its values by working with administrators, faculty, staff, students, and alumni. She has a bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University, a master’s degree from Old Dominion University, and currently became a PhD at the University of Minnesota in Organizational Leadership & Policy Development.
