Meet the Team
Hi everyone! My name is Holly Hodges, and I am a first year medical student from Central, Louisiana. I wanted to be Camp Tiger Director because I know what a meaningful and fun experience this is. My little sister has Down syndrome and has attended Camp Tiger in the past, so I know how much the kids look forward to and talk about camp all year long. Despite the challenges that COVID-19 presents, I want to make sure the children in our community have an exciting and safe week of camp to look forward to this summer. I can’t wait to see everyone’s smiling faces this June, and I hope you all join me in making Camp Tiger 2021 the best one yet!
Hey y'all! My name is Farrah Flattmann, and I am a first year medical student from Slidell, LA. Camp Tiger has always held a place in my heart as I have seen the power of this program firsthand, as my autistic brother was a participant of camp in New Orleans for six consecutive years! Additionally, in my undergraduate years at LSU, I acted as a counselor. Each experience I have with Camp Tiger deepens my appreciation of this program- it is such a valuable and humbling experience for medical students and a much deserved week of fun for our participants. Camp Tiger has brought so much joy to my family and to so many others, and I am beyond thrilled to contribute back to this program!
My name is Brennan Gioe and I am a first-year medical student who will be serving as a Counselor Co-Director for this year’s Camp Tiger. I had the pleasure to twice serve as a volunteer counselor for Camp Tiger in New Orleans and was impacted in such a large way that I wanted to be a part of the Camp Tiger team here in Shreveport! We understand the importance Camp Tiger has to many campers, families, and medical students so our team will do everything we can to create a safe and fun week for everyone. I am extremely excited for Camp Tiger 2021 and look forward to being a part of it!
My name is Jessica Elliott, and I am one of the Camper Co-Directors for Camp Tiger 2021! I am a first year medical student from Westlake, LA. I recently graduated from LSU in Biological Sciences. I am so excited to be a part of this year’s camp. I love that Camp Tiger gives children the opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled week while building a community of other children they can relate to. I also love that it gives first and second year medical students the opportunity to volunteer and to get to know their fellow classmates. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions about camper applications. I am more than happy to help!
