The School of Allied Health Professions is comprised of nine academic programs, three post-professional residency programs for physical therapists who hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, a doctoral internship program in health service psychology, and three specialized clinics: the Children’s Center which provides developmental and psychological testing and treatment for children, Mollie E. Webb Speech and Hearing Center which offers highly specialized speech and hearing care, and the Rehabilitation Clinic which provides state-of-the-art occupational, physical, and speech-language therapy. The School also serves as an off-campus instructional site for the School of Nursing at LSU Health New Orleans hosting three academic nursing programs.

Center of Academic Excellence for Patient Centered Rehabilitation
The Center of Academic Excellence for Patient Centered Rehabilitation (CAE-PaCeR) will establish an infrastructure to bring the relevant academic, research, and clinical programs of the School of Allied Health Professions (SAHP) into alignment around the purpose of the center: patient-centered rehabilitation in an academic culture of excellence for clinical learning, innovation, and collaboration. The benefit of this alignment will enhance our ability to prioritize available resources from philanthropic, grant, and clinical revenue sources toward strategic investments in teaching, research, and scholarships to best serve the needs of our students, patients, faculty, community, and the state of Louisiana. KSLA12 - Neurologic Physical Therapy Specialists, Dr. Suzanne Tinsley and Matthew Martin, share the treatment opportunities available at LSU Health Shreveport for brain related disfunction.
Shreveport Times - Dr. Deborah Smith, Assistant Professor of Public Health at LSUHS, is featured as a community leader to watch in 2023. Dr. Smith shares, "My biggest goal for 2023 is to reach out to those communities who don't have access to help."
KPVI/KTBS - Sharon Dunn, dean of the School of Allied Health Professions at LSUHS said it takes a team approach involving doctors, pharmacists, psychologists and physical therapists to help a person get over an addiction. Sometimes the best intervention is prevention.
Hayley Arceneaux, a 2016 graduate of the Physician Assistant (PA) program in the School of Allied Health Professions at LSU Health Shreveport, is scheduled to become the youngest American in space on Thursday evening September 15. Arceneaux currently works as a physician assistant at St. Jude
