Students pursuing a medical degrees at LSU Health Shreveport experience a demanding medical education curriculum that includes clinical training in academic medical centers, tertiary care centers, ambulatory care settings, outreach clinics and physician offices. In addition, many students engage in opportunities to participate in medical research, student organizations and community service programs.

To support the rigors of medical school and aide in student success we provide a wide range of support services. Students have access to recreational facilities, personal counseling, health care, peer support groups and other critical resources to balance the intensity of medical training. The institution also provides students with personalized mentoring and advising support as well as disability accommodations, financial support, advocacy and complaint handling. The success of our students in and out of the medical setting is of the highest importantance to us.
