SAVE Program
The Sexual Assault and Violence Education (SAVE) Program provides training, educational awareness programming, and support services to the LSU Health Shreveport campus community. The goal of the program is to reduce incidence of power-based violence (e.g., dating/domestic violence, sexual assault, sexual harassment, stalking) on- and off-campus. The programming provides individuals with information on identifying forms of power-based violence and responding in situations in which they witness or experience harm. Students, faculty, and staff may seek resources and support services from the SAVE Program in the event they experience any form of power-based violence.
SAVE Program staff are designated Confidential Advisors; therefore, they are not mandatory reporters (also known as responsible employees) of incidents of power-based violence. Campus community members may receive support services from SAVE Program staff without instituting notice under Title IX. SAVE Program staff are authorized to facilitate supportive measures on behalf of students and employees, and they will assist individuals with reporting incidents to the Title IX Coordinator and/or law enforcement (if desired).
