The beginning of a new year carries a quiet sense of possibility. It invites reflection on where we have been, what has shaped us, and how we want to feel moving forward. While resolutions often focus on external achievements, the new year is also an ideal moment to reconnect with something more foundational: Your wellbeing.

August is National Wellness Month, and we were thrilled to offer our fifth annual Wellness Week here on campus, where we had a variety of workshops and classes featuring all the different dimensions of wellness.

LSUHS Celebrates National Wellness Month with Fourth Annual Wellness Week

KTBS3 - Wellness is multi-dimensional. In fact, there are eight dimensions of wellness. Physical, mental, social, workplace, spiritual, intellectual, environmental, and financial. "A lot of people correlate wellness with just physical health, and physical health is a huge component of wellness, but it's not the only one," shared Dr. Marie Vazquez-Morgan, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Institutional Wellness at LSUHS.

KTBS3 - Dr. Marie Vazquez Morgan, LSUHS Assistant Vice Chancellor for Institutional Wellness, says, "once you look at all eight dimensions of wellness, then you have to address what you're really not doing so well, and what we need to kind of tweak and what we may be doing well and to move that forward."
