The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is constantly expanding. We believe you will find the type of postgraduate education you are seeking right here where we have a tradition of excellence. The Department has been organized around multiple clinical divisions:
High-Risk Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecology & Minimally Invasive Surgery, Urogynecology, and Pediatric & Adolescent Gynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and Gynecology Oncology. This Department maintains tertiary and specialty care programs that are unique in Northwest Louisiana; we always use an integrated approach to health care with an interdisciplinary team of providers. Clinical services are provided in a highly competitive environment.
The Department has important research efforts conducted by the faculty and residents that result in scientific publications each year. There is a constant effort on the part of the faculty to keep abreast of state-of-the-art advances in the specialty and to provide the student and resident staff with the most accurate and up-to-date information.

OUR RESIDENCY PROGRAM
Residents in our Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program receive training in high-risk obstetrics, obstetric ultrasound, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, colposcopy, laser surgery, LEEP, family planning, gynecologic pathology, sexual dysfunction, gynecologic endocrinology, pelvic, robotic and abdominal surgical techniques, breast pathology, pediatric and adolescent gynecology, office gynecology, office management problems, and gynecologic oncology.

318Forum - Dr. Nasreldin M. Ibrahim, LSUHS Assistant Professor of OB/GYN, shares symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment related to Endometriosis that affects over six million women in the U.S.
On March 10, 2023, 397 people from 39 states joined the LSUHS Library at their Maternal Morbidity and Mortality Symposium. The symposium was sponsored through a Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) Region 3 award.
LSUHS welcomes Kelly Pagidas, MD, MA, FACOG, FRCSC, as she begins her tenure here as the Associate Dean of Medical Education in the School of Medicine as well as a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
