On Monday, December 11, Gov. John Bel Edwards joined officials with LSUHS to unveil the transformative Center for Medical Education, the first new building on the campus since 2008. More than 400 invited guests joined LSU and LSUHS leadership to celebrate the completion of the four-story, 155,000-square-foot, $79 million structure.

We are excited to announce that Qihui "Jim" Zhai, MD, FCAP (Professor and Chair of Pathology and Translational Pathobiology at LSUHS) is the newly elected President-elect of the College of American Pathologists (CAP). Dr. Zhai was inaugurated at a meeting of the membership on Saturday, October 7, 2023.

This year the LSUHS Foundation celebrated record-breaking fundraising with more than $500,000 raised in a single year from more than 100 sponsors. Funds help LSUHS recruit and retain top faculty, acquire cutting-edge technology and equipment, and support programs for students at all three LSUHS schools.
