The Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at LSUHS has highly specialized educational opportunities for medical students to residents to fellows that is supported by caring mentors and state-of-the-art technological advances in surgical skills training. Our faculty members represent all of the major subspecialty areas of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery to include facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, head and neck surgical oncology, laryngology, pediatric otolaryngology, otology/neurotology in addition to general otolaryngology.
Our graduates have had great success both in private practice and academic tracks, which is a testament to the quality of training we provide.
TRAIN WITH US
Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Residency
The Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Residency Program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. The program matches three residents each year at the PGY-1 level via the National Resident Matching Program. Application to the program is via the Electronic Resident Application Service (ERAS). Head and Neck Surgery Fellowship
The Otolaryngology / Head and Neck Surgery program is a non-ACGME head and neck fellowship. The program is two years in duration. For candidates to be accepted into our training program, they must have successfully completed an Otolaryngology program. The program fosters a humanistic approach to medicine and expects its graduates to be of the highest ethical standards. LEARN MORE about the Fellowship Program.
Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship
Our fellowship is recognized by the Education and Research Foundation for American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Fellows experience a large and diverse patient population, with in-depth exposure to the full range of facial plastic and reconstructive procedures including cleft lip and palate repair, local flap repair of facial defects following excision of cutaneous malignancies, craniofacial trauma repair, microvascular free tissue transfer reconstruction of the head and neck, as well as a full complement of cosmetic facial plastic surgery procedures. Medical Student Training
