Shreveport trauma surgeon talks emergency care in a year of violence

Level 1 trauma center: When time is a factor in life or death

KTBS3 - “Every minute counts,” said Dr. Navdeep Samra, LSUHS Associate Professor of Surgery and Trauma Medical Director for Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport. “We call it the golden hour of trauma care in which the patient is brought to a trauma center within a timely fashion and the outcomes are better."

Dr. Quyen Chu - LSU Health Shreveport

Dr. Quyen Chu, Professor of Surgery and Chief of the Division of Surgical Oncology at LSU Health Shreveport, is the lead author of the study set for publication in an upcoming issue of Cancer, a journal of the American Cancer Society.
