NEUROLOGIC DISORDERS AFFECTING SPEECH & SWALLOWING | Conditions We Treat

Neurogenic disorders are caused by underlying neurological conditions that can weaken the muscles of the voice box or impair your ability to control your voice or swallowing. Certain brain and nerve conditions impact the ability to talk and swallow.
We offer compassionate care for people with:
- Parkinson’s Disease
A disorder of the nervous system that impacts movement - Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease)
A disease in which the brain and spine cells that control movement deteriorate, causing muscles to weaken - Stroke
When the brain doesn’t receive the oxygen-rich blood it needs, and brain cells start to die there can be lasting implications for speech and swallowing function
