Northwest Louisiana Chapter

We meet quarterly to discuss topics pertinent to voice professionals in our area.

The group is run by Sarah Quintana MS, L-SLP, CCC-SLP and Meredith McClain, L-SLP, CCC-SLP.

   

World Voice Day • April 16

We host an annual Karaoke evening at Great Raft Brewery. $1 from each beer sold is donated to dysphonia research. Celebrating our unique voices through Karaoke.

Also, we host a Laryngeal Health Screening Clinic for local singers including members of the Centenary College Hurley School of Music.

Dysphagia Awareness Month • June

We celebrate this annually with a lecture and dysphagia related activity. Previous topics have included:

  • What’s for breakfast? How to prepare a nutritious and delicious breakfast employing different dietary textures.
  • Pediatric feeding conundrums – How do we prevent oral aversion?
  • When is it Okay to Aspirate?

Walk for Talk

Use your feet to help us defeat Spasmodic Dysphonia & related voice conditions.

We host an annual walk to support dysphonia research at the Norton Botanic garden during the month of October.
