We offer Two fully accredited Fellowship Programs.

The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery fosters two fully accredited fellowship programs to advance the scope of the standard Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery practice. Each fellowship program offered accepts One fellow per year. All fellows must have completed an accredited Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Training Program prior to matriculation into the fellowship.

Head & Neck Oncologic/Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship

This 2-year fully-accredited fellowship was established in 2006, and has graduated 12 fellows. The fellowship training is provided at LSU Health Shreveport, as well as both the Willis-Knighton North and South Campuses. We have been able to provide continued care for patients from Northwest Louisiana, West Mississippi, South Arkansas, and East Texas with expertise in all aspects of head & neck oncology and microvascular reconstruction.

Cleft & Craniofacial Surgery
Fellowship

This 2-year fully-accredited fellowship began in July 2011 and recently graduated its seventh fellow in June 2019. The bulk of the fellow's training takes place at LSU Health Shreveport, Willis-Knighton South Campus and Shriner's Hospital for Children in Shreveport.  Shriners Hospital for Children provides the opportunity for additional advanced cleft and craniofacial care for patients from Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma.
