The Louisiana State University Health Shreveport OB/GYN Residency Program participates in ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service). Basic criteria for applying to our residency program include:
- Three letters of recommendation- one can be the SLO-E
- Medical school transcript
- Personal statement
- Curriculum vitae
- Dean’s letter (received September 30, 2022)

We welcome applicants from a variety of personal and professional backgrounds. All of our reviewers complete unconscious bias training which prepares them to holistically evaluate every candidate across a spectrum of attributes we believe are necessary to ensure a good fit between residents and our program.
All applicants are required to complete Altus Suite as part of their application for the 2022/2023 admissions cycle. To complete Altus Suite visit TakeAltus.com to create an account and register to complete the following assessments:
- Casper: 100-120 minute online, open-response situational judgment test
- Snapshot: 15-minute one-way video interview with standardized questions*
- Duet: 15-minute value-alignment assessment
Interview Information
Invitations to interview will be extended on October 25, 2022.
We will limit interview invitations to the number of interview slots.
We will allow a minimum of 48 hours after offer to accept/ decline
All interviews will be held virtually. Morning interview sessions begin at 7:30 AM CST. Afternoon interview sessions begin at 12:30 PM CST. Candidates selected to interview will have the opportunity to meet with faculty, residents and staff on their interview day.
Residency Program Interviews will be held on Thursdays:
November 10, 2022 / November 17, 2022 / December 1, 2022 / December 8, 2022 / December 15, 2022
Interview Socials will be the night before each interview.
Interview Season Communication
Communication around your interest in interviewing with our program (via personal email or through faculty mentors) outside of the new secondary application (aka 'signal') will be reviewed time permitting. Please DO NOT send multiple emails.
After interviewing, if you would like to send a thank you to your interviewers, please do so via email. Do not send a hand-written letter. Post interview communication will be reviewed, time permitting. We will NOT proactively reach out to you concerning our rank list and, time permitting, will respond to post interview communication that you initiated.
A second look or visit to our campus is not necessary and will not change your position on our rank order list. If you are interested in visiting with us please contact our program coordinator to assist you in arranging this at Suzie.Golas@lsuhs.edu.
