This is a 1-month long required elective that is only offered to our upper-level Med-Peds residents. During this rotation, residents rotate at our Provenance Primary Care Clinic located in South Shreveport. This clinic houses the faculty clinics of Dr. Adams, Dr. Beal, Dr. Bass, Dr. Callegan-Poché, and Dr. Mahadevan. Our residents are able to work one-on-one with our Med-Peds attendings in their own Med-Peds clinics. This is a wonderful opportunity for our residents to see another side of outpatient medicine and to learn about the workings of a private practice. Residents are also exposed to healthcare for LGTBQ+ patients on this rotation.
