The Governing Board of American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) has bestowed upon Qiang Cai, MD, PhD, the designation of Master of ASGE (MASGE) which is the top designation of the society

Healio Gastroenterology - Sudha Pandit, MD, LSUHS Assistant Professor of Medicine, reports that the survival rate for colorectal cancer “is over 91%” if caught early, an important reminder during Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.

KTAL6 - In the United States, more people die of colorectal cancer than any other cancer, besides lung cancer. Louisiana has one of the highest rates in the country.

LSU Health Shreveport has named Dr. James Morris as the inaugural Assistant Dean for Graduate Medical Education and Dr. Shane Barton as the inaugural Assistant Dean for Faculty Development.

Dr. James D. Morris, Associate Professor of Medicine and Program Director for the Gastroenterology Residency, was awarded the Allen A. Copping, DDS Excellence in Teaching Award for Clinical Medicine.

Please join in welcoming Qiang Cai, MD, PhD, our new Chairman of Gastroenterology, to LSU Health Shreveport. Dr Cai joins us from Emory University School of Medicine where he was Professor of Medicine, Master Clinician, and the Director of the Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship. 

We are excited to announce that the paper "3D Printing for Bio-Synthetic Biliary Stents" is nominated for the 2020 Best Paper
Award from Bioengineering journal.

Dr. Samant’s award will support his work on developing esophageal stents and advancing them for future use in a clinical setting.
