Training with LSU Health Shreveport's Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship allows for a rich experience with a diverse patient population at a variety of locations including our partner facility, Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport Academic Medical Center, which is located adjacent to our campus and is a Level 1 Trauma Center. The Overton Brooks Veterans Administration Medical Center with 111 beds serves over 37,000 veterans per year within its primary service area encompassing fifteen (15) Louisiana parishes, five (5) counties in Southern Arkansas and ten (10) counties in East Texas. CLINICS

Ambulatory, Outpatient and Continuity Care Clinics
Ambulatory experience will be obtained through continuity and specialized clinics. The clinics include general cardiology, arrhythmia, cardiac device, heart failure, interventional cardiology, structural heart disease, pregnancy and heart disease clinics. Most of the clinics will be in the DCI building adjacent to the hospital.

General Cardiology Clinics at OLSU and VA
Under the supervision of all cardiology faculty. The goal is to get insights into ambulatory management of all types of basic and complex cardiovascular disease, and referral to specialty clinic when appropriate.

Adult Congenital Heart Disease Clinic
Under the supervision of Dr. Jones and Dr. Todman. The fellows get experience in the management of pediatric and adult congenital heart disease.  

Heart Failure Clinic
The goal is to provide experience in post-hospital management of HF patients, optimizing medical management per guidelines, patient education, minimizing hospital admissions, decisions on device therapies, hospice referral, and referral for heart transplant or LVAD as destination therapy as appropriate.

Interventional Cardiology Clinic
Under the supervision of Dr. Modi, Dr. Katikaneni, and Dr. Mina. The fellows will gain training in ambulatory management pre and post coronary interventions, with exposure to peripheral and structural procedures. In addition, the interventional cardiology fellow will obtain experience in the consultation from complex coronary artery disease referral from EA Conway hospital.

Arrhythmia Clinic
Under the supervision of Dr. Dominic and Dr. Duddyala. The goal is to get insights into ambulatory management of all types arrhythmias, understand indications for ablation, ablation options and their outcomes. The fellows will also get insights into complex management of Afib including ablation.

Device Clinic
Under the supervision of Dr. Dominic and Dr. Duddyala. The fellows get experience in the management of ICD, pace makers, and loop recorders.
