It is my great privilege to welcome you to the Department of Anesthesiology at LSU Health Shreveport. Our department plays a vital role in advancing the mission of our institution—delivering outstanding clinical care, educating the next generation of physicians, and driving innovation through research and scholarship.
As Chair, I am proud to lead a team of dedicated anesthesiologists, residents, fellows, CRNAs, and staff who are committed to excellence, compassion, and collaboration. Whether in the operating room, the intensive care unit, the pain clinic, or beyond, we strive to provide safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care to the diverse communities we serve.
Education is at the heart of our department. We are deeply invested in training highly skilled, and thoughtful anesthesiology professionals. Through mentorship, hands-on learning, and academic engagement, our trainees develop the clinical expertise and leadership skills needed to thrive in any practice setting. I am proud of our growing number of conferences dedicated to board review and simulation-based learning, reflecting our commitment to excellence in resident education and ongoing faculty development.
Our department is also growing in its research and academic endeavors. We are actively building opportunities for faculty and trainees to contribute to knowledge in perioperative medicine, critical care, regional anesthesia, and health system innovation. I believe our department is uniquely positioned to shape the future of anesthesiology in Louisiana and beyond.
