The Master's Degree Program in Cellular Biology and Anatomy

The Masters of Science program in Cellular Biology & Anatomy provides our students with training in the Clinical Anatomical Sciences that gives them the tools to enable them to continue to pursue a terminal degree after graduation if they desire to ultimately join a faculty within an Academic Medical Center.

Our program also has a translational component in basic science research skills, which allows the student to develop a research career in a setting of their choosing, whether at undergraduate/community college or in an Industrial/Pharmaceutical Research setting.

Students in the Masters program gain research experience through matriculating in the state-of-the-art research programs of our faculty. Our faculty explore basic and translational research studies in areas such as cardiovascular disease, stroke, epilepsy, hypertension, diabetes mellitus and diabetic complications.

The training received by our Master's program graduates have allowed many of them to continue to pursue careers in Medicine and Allied Health profession.

Admission Requirements

Students must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, a grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 point scale, and a minimum verbal plus quantitative score of 300 on the Graduate Record Examination.  International students should also have minimum scores of 550 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL; 90/120 on the computerized TOEFL).


Three letters of recommendation must also be provided by professors familiar with the student’s coursework or academic employment, initiative and character.
