School of Allied Health Professions White Coat Ceremony
During their first year in the Physician Assistant (PA) Program, the students participate in a fall semester cloaking ceremony. PA faculty members cloak the students with their short white coat as a symbol of the faculty’s support of the students. This ceremony usually occurs in conjunction with SAHP Family Day.
The day before graduation, at the White Coat Ceremony, the PA Program faculty welcomes the graduating students to the PA profession during the symbolic removal of the short white coat and donning of the long white coat before taking the PA version of the Hippocratic Oath together.
