April 28, 2023 - CASPA application opens

You will receive an email when your verified CASPA application has been received.

You will receive an email when your supplemental application has been received. If you have not heard from the program ~2 weeks after sending in your supplemental application, please contact the PA Program Office at paprogramshreveport@lsuhs.edu

Once your verified CASPA and supplemental application are received, your application will be reviewed for completeness. If something is missing (for example, outstanding prerequisite courses) you will receive an email. Respond to all emails in a timely manner. All program communications with applicants are through CASPA.

When you should submit your application:
  1. If your prerequisite courses are completed and your health care hours are completed, submit early.
  2. If you are in the process of completing your required coursework, submit your CASPA application after your grades are posted (so they can verify your most recent coursework). For example, if you are enrolled in courses in the Spring of 2023, submit your application to CASPA after your grades for Spring are posted on your transcript. If you are enrolled in summer courses, submit your application after those grades are posted.
  3. If you are in the process of completing your healthcare hours, submit after you have the minimum number of hours. However, if you will be gaining a significant amount of experience, (for example, working full time during the summer) wait until those hours are completed before submitting.

Selected candidates will be invited to interview in late summer and fall (August - November)

We use a Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) Session to evaluate motor skills, communication skills, intellectual skills, behavioral qualities, and interpersonal skills. The Casper test will be incorporated into the MMI process. You can apply to the program prior to taking the Casper test, but you cannot be accepted into the program until you complete the Casper test. Interviews may be conducted virtually.

December 15, 2023 - All applicants will be notified of admission decisions

Because of the high number of qualified applicants, meeting the minimum admissions criteria does not guarantee an interview for the program.

Please note: if you do not meet the minimum requirements (for example, your undergraduate GPA is lower than a 3.0) or you do not submit your supplemental application to the program by the stated deadline, your application will not be reviewed. Applications are reviewed in the order in which they are received, so submit early.

May 20, 2024 - Classes begin for accepted students

Accepted students must certify that they meet the technical standards established by the program with or without reasonable accommodations.

Accepted students are assigned a provisional admission status until meeting conditions outlined in the acceptance letter and completing pre-matriculation requirements set forth by the Office of the Registrar. Failure to complete requirements in a timely manner will prevent registration and may result in revocation of the offer of acceptance. As part of the pre-matriculation requirements, incoming students are required to pass a drug screen and criminal background check prior to matriculation. Offers of acceptance are contingent on passing both.
