Cardiovascular technologists (CVTs) can work in various acute care and outpatient settings to include hospitals, operating rooms, physician offices, and diagnostic labs. Invasive cardiovascular specialists most often work in cardiac catheterization or electrophysiology labs. CVTs also have the opportunity to work in education, research, or advance into administrative/management positions. Additionally, CVTs can pursue additional specialized training in vascular technology, electrophysiology, or congenital cardiac sonography.
