The Gulf Coast Vascular Research Consortium is the annual conference highlighting cutting edge research in Vascular Biology from world-renowned laboratories across the Gulf Coast region. By bringing together a critical mass of scientific pioneers and educators, the annual Gulf Coast Vascular Research Consortium will facilitate knowledge transfer, novel insights and new collaborations.   

On April 10-11, 2026, Scientific pioneers and educators convened for the 8th Annual Event for the Gulf Coast Vascular Research Consortium (GVRC) hosted by the Center for Cardiovascular Diseases and Sciences (CCDS) at LSUHS. This years GVRC had 134 Participants (Speakers, Sponsors, Students & Faculty) from leading institutions across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas.  In addition to leading faculty speakers from multiple universities, graduate students and trainees shared their cutting edge research in vascular biology. This annual event was led by Wayne Orr, PhD, Art Yurdagul, PhD, Nirav Dhanesha, PhD, and Connie Simmons, CCDS Administrative Officer.
