The goal of this AHA SURE program is to support individuals interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics & Medicine (STEMM) fields or careers who meet the eligibility criteria and are interested in exploring STEMM careers. Students will work in the laboratory of a mentor connected to the AHA, to conduct research that fits the AHA mission. Only US citizens/permanent residents can participate in the program.
Eligible participants include:
- Must be interested in a health care related field.
- Must display exemplary academic performance.
- Must be full-time undergraduate, rolling into their sophomore, junior or senior year.
- Must be able to dedicate 8-10 weeks between the end of May and mid-August.
- Must present at a symposium at the end of the program.
