LSU Health Shreveport Office of the Registrar serves as the certifying official who act as a liaison between the Department of Veterans Affairs and the veteran student to offer various entitlement programs to students who have served in the military on active duty, are members of the selected Reserves/National Guard, or are dependents of a veteran who died while in the military or who has a service-related disability. This involves assisting with a variety of processing and information needs such as documentation requirements, correspondence, and the certification of benefits. Louisiana's Title 29 in-state tuition exemption benefit offers educational assistance for children, spouses, and surviving spouses of veterans who meet certain requirements.
