Local clergy and Vaccination providers are joining forces to administer free vaccinations to all citizens at TEEN FEST

Local clergy and Vaccination providers are joining forces to administer free Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson vaccinations to all citizens with particular emphasis 12-year-old and older residents.  Also, other health screening services will be offered including blood pressure checks, COVID-19 Rapid Test, glucose/blood sugar check and physical fitness activities.

Reverend Alejandro Ray Smith, President of the Dr. E. Edward Jones Ministerial Alliance, announced the sponsorship of the TEEN FEST to be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at Galilee Baptist Church, 1500 Pierre Avenue, Shreveport, LA as the vaccination cite.  Rev. Smith clarified, “The TEEN FEST is targeting teenagers, but the event is open to all family members and the public.”  Scheduled activities will include team sporting events, table games, pool, ping pong, snow cones and a radio remote featuring DJ Jabba Jaws. Pastor Brian Wilson said, “Galilee is pleased to host the festival and serve a hot dog lunch to all attendees.”

To combat COVID-19 the following collective of community agencies have agreed to participate: Louisiana Office of Public Health, LSU Health Shreveport, Louisiana National Guard Strike Team, Healthy Blue, Louisiana Governor's Council of Physical Fitness and Sports, Centerwell Primary Care, David Raines Health Centers and the Northwest Louisiana Sickle Cell Disease Association of American.

Dr. Martha Whyte, reiterated, " As the Medical Director for the Office of Public Health, I encourage the community to come out, get vaccinated and enjoyed the day! Vaccination is so especially important right now, as the community enters a fourth surge with Covid and see young, healthy people being hospitalized. Please help protect yourself and your community, while enjoying some fellowship.  Let's stop the Delta Variant from setting us back in this fight against COVID-19."
