School of Allied Health Professions welcomed 113 new students

On Monday, May 23, the School of Allied Health Professions welcomed 113 new students across six programs: cardiopulmonary science, medical laboratory science, occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant, and speech-language pathology. This is the first group of students in the Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program since the program transitioned from the master’s level last year.

New students began the day in their program-specific sessions, then came together for lunch where they were welcomed by the Dean and Chancellor. Later, they joined M.S. in Medical Science students for a scavenger hunt designed to familiarize them with important locations around campus. Students were then treated to an ice cream social where they could relax and get to know each other before  beginning classes the next day.

Welcome to LSU Health Shreveport to all the new Allied Health students!
