Cardiopulmonary Science students practice respiratory therapy on models

Respiratory Care Week is a full week, from October 25-31, that is set aside to acknowledge and appreciate hard-working Respiratory Therapists around the world. Our Cardiopulmonary Science Program is fully-accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care, and provides academic and clinical education leading to the Bachelor of Science in Cardiopulmonary Science degree. Students may work bedside after their first semester in the program, with a mix of classroom training, labs, and simulations. LSU Health Shreveport is proud of our graduates and faculty representing the institution across the country in the fight to heal respiratory diseases like COVID-19. This week, we celebrate their tireless efforts and exemplary clinical care.

Dr. Tim Gilmore, Clinical Associate Professor of Cardiopulmonary Science & Program Director and Lindsay Michel, Clinical Assistant Professor of Cardiopulmonary Science & Director of Clinical Education recently shared insights into their profession on the Tim Fletcher Morning Show.
