Medical students helping cancer survivors prepare for upcoming walkathon

The inaugural Cancer Survivor Walkathon was a sight to behold! Cancer survivors celebrating life with their families, dogs, LSUHS students, researchers and clinical faculty all under beautiful blue skies, a breeze, with a live radio broadcast. Thanks to all the sponsors and vendors who made the event possible will long live in the memory of all involved in this very special celebration.

A special thank you to second year medical student Tanner Ward whose heart for serving others led the many individuals and businesses who made today possible.

Beyond just participating in the event, cancer survivors were invited to a bi-monthly cancer survivorship walking group to support one another in meeting exercise and health goals for weeks leading up to the big event.
